BucketBoy

This ain't your daddy's tape echo. It's not even his bucket brigade.

A real bucket-brigade cascade and a Prime Time / SDD-3000 digital hybrid, running at the same time off the same input, and one knob morphs between them live. The buckets aren't a fake — supply sag, charge-transfer loss, a bias point that drifts while you play, kTC noise injected mid-cascade, all of it modeled from the actual physics of a chip that was never meant to hold two seconds of audio. So BUCKETBOY cascades chips instead of murdering the clock, same trick the Deluxe Memory Man used. The digital side gets the SDD-3000's gain-ranging or the Lexicon's compander, your call. FEEDBACK's usable range is 0–50%. Past that is the RED ZONE, and it is not more gain — it's more damage.

BucketBoy plugin GUI
  • Real virtual BBD cascade — the clock never leaves the MN3005's spec, delay time grows the chip count instead of collapsing the clock (up to 18 chips at 2 seconds)
  • A parallel digital Prime Time / SDD-3000 hybrid line running off the exact same input, continuously — not switched
  • MORPH crossfades between them live, level-matched so it's a tone morph, not a volume ramp
  • WOBBLE, TILT, STEREO, and CROSS reshape the wander, the tone tilt, and which line the regeneration returns into
  • FEEDBACK's red zone turns the buckets dirtier, the word length coarser, and db-cell's injection twelvefold — self-oscillation is a decision, not an accident
  • Live BUCKET BRIGADE readout: cascade chips, clock in kHz, and whether it's still in spec — turn TIME and watch the cascade grow
  • Service trims on the face: CLOCK and GRADE, plus the blue db-cell trim powering the buckets' rail
