TRANSISTOR COMBO ORGAN · SIX MODELED INSTRUMENTS, REAL DIVIDER CHAINS, BUILT-IN ENSEMBLE & SPRING TANK
'SISTOR
Six dead combo organs, alive again.
A transistor combo organ modeled from the oscillators down: twelve master oscillators per model, real flip-flop divider chains, busbar keying with contact bounce, and the voicing filters exactly where the hardware actually puts them — after the mix, on the bus, not tracking pitch. One switch selects between six instruments, plus a three-line BBD ensemble chorus and a spring tank shared across all of them, and DRIFT / AGE / DUTY / POWER-CYCLE controls that span the technology's whole history, from a cold 1965 Farfisa to a crystal-locked 1975 unit.
- Six modeled instruments on one switch — CONTINENTAL (Vox Continental V301), COMPACT (Farfisa Compact Duo Mk2), PHILICORDA (Philips 22GM751), DORIC (a reconstruction — no schematic exists anywhere), YC (Yamaha YC-45D/YC-20), and PANTHER (Elka Panther 300)
- Twelve LC/RC master oscillators per model feeding real bistable divider chains, not a single wavetable pretending to be six organs — each model carries its own per-tap pre-filtering and bus leakage
- Busbar keying with contact stagger, bounce and foldback, plus the voicing filters placed where the actual hardware puts them: after the mix bus, so they shape the chord and not the individual pitch
- A three-line BBD ensemble built from the Solina/Logan circuit — wet-only, 0.6Hz and 6Hz three-phase modulation mixed 79:21 — plus a spring tank shared across every model
- DRIFT, AGE, DUTY and POWER-CYCLE together span the technology's full history, from a cold 1965 Farfisa slowly warming up to a crystal-locked 1975 instrument that never drifts at all
- Model-specific voicing paths modeled individually: the Vox two-path filter, the Farfisa cascade plus Multi-Tone Booster, and the Yamaha Bright circuit, rather than one generic tone stack reused six times
- Built to run into ROTATOR for the rotating-speaker half of the combo-organ-and-Leslie pairing this instrument was designed around
